Stainless Steel Long Shank Rowlock Plate 10mm – Dinghy Rowing Fitting
The Stainless Steel Long Shank Rowlock Plate 10mm is a durable marine rowing fitting designed to provide a secure pivot point for a rowlock when rowing dinghies, tenders and small boats.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel for marine use, the rowlock plate provides a strong mounting point for the rowlock while helping protect the boat's gunwale from the repetitive movement and wear generated during rowing.
The long-shank design helps minimise friction, noise and wear while providing a practical installation option for traditional dinghy and small-boat rowing systems.
Ideal for replacing worn rowlock plates, restoring older dinghies or installing a new rowing system, this stainless steel fitting provides a simple and durable solution for New Zealand boat owners.

What Is a Rowlock Plate?
A rowlock plate is the fitting installed on the boat that supports the rowlock or oarlock.
The rowlock itself holds the oar and pivots inside the plate as the oar is moved backwards and forwards during rowing.
This creates a controlled pivot point that allows the rower to efficiently transfer force from the oar into the water.
Without a suitable rowlock plate, the rowlock could wear directly against the boat's gunwale, potentially damaging both the boat and the rowing hardware.
Long-Shank Design
The long-shank configuration provides additional support for the rowlock and is designed to help minimise friction, noise and wear as the rowlock moves during rowing.
This style is commonly used on traditional dinghies, tenders and other small rowing boats where a simple, robust rowlock arrangement is required.
The stainless steel construction also provides a smooth and durable bearing surface for the rowlock.
Designed for 9mm Rowlocks
This plate is designed around a 9mm nominal rowlock fitting.
Before ordering, measure the shank diameter of your existing rowlock and compare it with the plate specification.
Correct sizing is important.
A rowlock that is too large will not fit the plate, while excessive clearance between the rowlock and plate may create unwanted movement and noise during rowing.
If replacing an existing system, checking both the old rowlock and plate before ordering is recommended.
