B&G Simrad Lowrance NMEA 2000 Starter Kit 000-0124-69
The B&G Simrad Lowrance NMEA 2000 Starter Pack provides the essential components required to create a reliable NMEA 2000 marine electronics network on your boat.
Designed for use with compatible B&G, Simrad and Lowrance marine electronics, this genuine Navico starter kit provides the backbone, power connection, T-connectors and termination required to start connecting NMEA 2000 devices together.
NMEA 2000 allows compatible marine electronics to share information across a common network. Instead of separately wiring sensors to individual displays, compatible devices can communicate through the NMEA 2000 backbone, allowing information such as GPS position, heading, depth, speed, wind, engine data, AIS information, tank levels and other vessel data to be shared between connected equipment where supported.
The kit is ideal when installing your first NMEA 2000 system or creating a new network as part of an electronics upgrade.
Using standard Micro-C style NMEA 2000 connectors, installation is straightforward and the network can easily be expanded in the future by adding additional T-connectors, backbone cables and compatible devices.

What is NMEA 2000?
NMEA 2000 is a standardised marine electronics networking system that allows compatible equipment from different systems and manufacturers to exchange information over a common network.
Think of it as the data highway running through your boat.
Instead of every sensor requiring its own dedicated connection to every display, information is placed onto the NMEA 2000 network and can then be accessed by compatible displays and other equipment.
Depending on the equipment installed, an NMEA 2000 network can carry information including:
- GPS position
- Boat speed
- Speed through water
- Depth
- Water temperature
- Wind speed
- Wind direction
- Vessel heading
- Engine RPM
- Engine temperature
- Fuel flow
- Fuel level
- Battery voltage
- Tank levels
- AIS information
- Autopilot data
- Rudder position
Actual information available depends on the sensors, interfaces and displays connected to your network.
